Four Reasons Why You Should be Excited about the Playstation 4

- Sunday, 3 February 2013 No Comments

The Internet is abuzz with rumors that the long-awaited Playstation 4 will finally be unveiled on February 20 -- a little more than two weeks from now. The announcement is expected to come months before the new Xbox console is unveiled, giving the Playstation the lead that Xbox had when it released the 360 ahead of the Playstation 3.
Though few details have been released about the new Playstation 4, rumors are already circulating. Here are just 4 reasons why you should be excited about the Playstation 4:

Faster Processing Speed

Rumors are inconclusive about the type of processing power and memory the CPU will have, but some accounts have suggested the new system will have as much as twice the power and speed of the Playstation 3. Already, the Playstation has a reputation for excellence and has gained respect as a media center that can do much more than just play games. We fully expect Sony to build on this reputation by introducing a console with even more power and more processing speed.

More Intense Graphics

Many of the games in the Playstation 3 catalogue have gorgeous graphics that sometimes seem very real. As technology has continued to advance and more gains have been made in the fields of CGI and game technology, we fully expect the graphics on the Playstation 4 to be larger-than-life. We can't wait to be amazed by the stunning graphics that we fully expect to be a part of the Playstation 4.

Next-Gen Games

New game titles accompany the release of every new gaming system, and we can't wait to see what amazing games will be released with the Playstation 4. Whether we get new games in an established series, or we get entirely new titles, we know they will be sure to push artistic boundaries and create new and amazing game play experiences.

New Design

There has been a lot of speculation about the design that the new Playstation 4 will have, especially the design of its controller. Some reports have suggested that the new controller will feature a similar design to the Playstation 3 and will have many of the same abilities, such as motion sensing. However, the new controller is expected to have tilt correction and vibration. Some have also speculated that it may add biometric technology like what is featured on the Kinect or the Wii.
We'll definitely be waiting anxiously over the next couple of weeks to learn more details about the expected release. The Playstation 3 has been one of the most-loved consoles and has a well-deserved reputation for excellence. We can't wait to see how Sony will top itself with the Playstation 4.
What are you most excited about for the Playstation 4? What do you think about the rumors for the expected release? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Best action games for Android

- Sunday, 18 November 2012 No Comments

I can’t say that shooters and action games are the best ones for playing on your smartphone. Nevertheless, these games are considered to be the standard for other games in terms of graphics, gameplay, etc. If you look through the Google Play Market you’ll find a lot of such games. In order not to download and to get disappointed, I’ve decided to share with you the best action games for Android available at Google Play Market right now.

Dead Space

First release of the Dead Space was issued four years ago and the game immediately gained a lot of popularity among the gamers. Official Android application was released in 2011 and finally I’ve decided to try it.
The game is divided into two independent parts and takes place at the space station which is infected with some virus that turns the inhabitants of the station into mutants. As Isaac you’ll have to get rid of all the enemies and to solve the secret of the station. The game is notable for its scary mutants and I don’t think you’ll find something like that in other shooters.
The game is really enthralling. Another good thing about it is that the game format is pretty suitable for a smartphone. The quality of the game details is high, no problems with gameplay. The level of graphics quality is very close to that on the Playstation 3 or Xbox360.
Control elements are placed on the left side of the display, on the right you can change angle of rotation. In order to fight with the enemies you meet at the station you may either fire with a fire ball by clicking on a screen or with plasma by sliding on a screen.
The story of the game won’t let you to get bored. And I think that Dead Space will meet your expectations.

Frontline Commando

The game is made in the genre of 3D shooter where you play for a person whose friends were killed by the soldiers of some cruel dictator. The level of graphics of the game will please your eye. The main hero has a great choice of weapon which he may use at any moment. To fill up your weapon stock you can in a shop where you’ll find a wide range of weapon of all kinds. Apart from that, you can buy there additional armor, health and different bonuses.
The only thing I didn’t like about this game is that it develops only in one location and the main hero practically doesn’t move – only shoots back and hides behind the walls. The number of terrorists grows with every level, and they shoot at you not only with machine guns, but also with grenade launchers. And the only thing you do is shoot back and run from wall to wall. So actually, gameplay levels the quality of graphics.

Grand Theft Auto III

To celebrate its 10th birthday GTA was released for Android devices. The style of the game remains the same – you should be fully prepared for anything. You’re betrayed and a huge price is set for your head. And that’s not your only problem as there police and FBI tracing you.
Peculiarities:
• Huge Liberty City that lives its own life regardless what you’re doing;
• Great choice of weapon: baseball bat, machine guns, rifles, sniper rifles, flamethrower, grenades, Molotov cocktails, etc.;
• New models of cars;
• Fully optimized controls for sensor devices;
• Hours-long gameplay.

Galaxy on Fire 2

Galaxy on Fire 2 is the continuation of one of the best iPhone games in 2009. Previously the game was available only for Apple devices and Sony Ericsson Xperia. But now all Android users can enjoy this great game.
The main hero of the game is a famous space traveler Keith T. Maxwell, who declared a war on the aliens. You’re offered 10 hours of adventures and trips in hyper space and through tonnels-wormholes in the farthest corners of the galaxy. At any moment you may protect the cargo from the space pirates, transport valuable things from one space system into another, look for dangerous space criminals or lead the mercenaries in order to restore alien technologies.
The game is simply the best in terms of quality among the games of such sci-fi genre. Just look at the facts: gigantic galaxy that consists of more than 20 solar systems and beautifully made planets waits for your reclamation. To do that you may use more than 30 fully customized spaceships, and more than 100 space stations are ready to shelter a tired traveler or warrior.
So it’s up to you: whether to destroy all that with a group of mercenaries or fight these mercenaries as a peace maker. Freedom of choice is the main principle of Galaxy on Fire 2. Apart from great graphics, all plot stories are dubbed.

Zombie Field HD

Unknown virus turned the population of Creeds brother and sister’s city into zombies, and they are the only ones to stop the spreading of the disease. Former killers know how to manage guns and their own fear. And those are very good skills in the city stuffed with zombies. Previously they killed for money, now they kill to stay alive.
At the beginning of the game you can choose who to play for, either for a brother or for a sister. The gameplay is to move to different locations, collecting different kinds of weapons, and kill the hordes of zombies.
The game may boast about great 3D graphics, each location is detailed and has different scenery. The music suits to the gameplay, adding some fear when it is needed. The controls are made very intuitive. Surely the best zombie shooter at the moment.

Elevate Your Online Gaming with the Right Gaming PC

- Monday, 8 October 2012 No Comments

It seems like every new game that comes out creates a new standard in the gaming industry with clearer images, complex worlds, faster speeds, and more action than their predecessors. What you may not think about, in your heightened excitement, is that these new improved games also have new requirements for the computer that operates them. Without the right components and power, your new game can be sluggish and you may not even be able to open specific features.

Improve the PC You Have

If you have an older computer and you want to be able to play the latest World of Warcraft or Call of Duty, you might want to think about investing in some upgrades. Some people think that a few simple tweaks to your computer will do the trick but this is not necessarily true. For example, you can try closing any other programs or applications that are running (which you should do anyway), but realistically, this will only add a slight improvement to the game’s functionality.

Another suggestion you might receive is to overclock your computer’s central processing unit (CPU). This is shown to help with older computers but you want to be careful when utilizing overclocking. If you are a serious PC gamer you probably already know how to increase the CPU frequency (mhz) by accessing your computer’s bios. If you are a part-time gamer, you can access your computer’s bios usually by hitting DEL, F2, F10, or F1 when you first start up the computer. This should bring up a blue screen with a long list of options for your computer’s hardware. However, it is important to keep in mind that overclocking does cause your computer to run faster, which means that it also generates more heat inside the tower. In order to avoid any damage to your hardware, you will want to make sure that you have a sufficient cooling system and you will probably need to purchase one to install on your PC.
The best way to improve an old PC is by investing in some new hardware. Graphics cards, RAM upgrades, and video card drivers can provide some help, depending on the game(s) that you play and what your computer already has inside it. You might need to do some experimenting to see what does and does not work for your system.

Buy a Gaming PC

Probably the best way to ensure that your computer has the right components to support the latest games is to purchase a new and updated gaming PC. Just about any kind of new computer can be used as a gaming PC: all in one computers, mini-towers, large towers, and even some laptops. When choosing your new game PC, think about what you want to do with it. Do you just want it to sit in a stationary place or are you intending to take it to other locations in order to play with your gaming friends? This should influence the design that you choose for your PC.

In addition, avoid purchasing computers that just meet the minimum requirements of your games—these computers will surely need to be updated or replaced sooner than you think and you will not be able to get the full benefits of your games out of them. Quad core and six core processors are your best choice as they can handle the higher developed graphics of the latest games. You should also make sure that your RAM is at least 4GB and that you have a high level graphics card. This may add some serious cash to your overall price but it will be worth the investment. Gaming PC’s Determine Your Gaming Experience

It is important to remember that the quality of your game playing is attributed to the hardware you use to run it. This means that you should be prepared to purchase upgraded parts for your computer or invest in a PC with the power to create the ultimate gaming experience.

Max Payne 3 Review

- Tuesday, 13 March 2012 No Comments

Max Payne was a game-changer. It introduced cinematic style and complex, multi-dimensional characters to gaming and revolutionised third-person shooters in the process. Since then, the genre has been taken to a whole new level with games like Gears of War Uncharted. The onus of developing the long-awaited third instalment now falls on the capable shoulders of Rockstar Games (Grand Theft Auto), but linear shooters isn’t quite their forte, so it was interesting to see how they coped with being in the unfamiliar role of underdog.

Off the bat, Rockstar has done a fantastic job on the character of Max Payne, from the voice work and making you feel for him and his predicament, to the realism with which he is rendered on-screen. Every movement is life-like, from stumbling into cover to lunging into a shoot-dodge. He looks and moves every bit like the alcoholic, unfit ex-cop he is. Bullet time, the signature Max Payne feature that lets you slow time down, in concert with a cover mechanic and the physics engine makes for some thrilling gunplay. And that’s great because Max Payne 3 basically comes down to advancing from one shootout to the next, separated by frequent cut scenes that move the story forward. There isn’t much gameplay variety, and you will miss that from time to time, but the great pacing does well to minimise that sentiment.
Much of the game plays out in Brazil, and Rockstar deserves kudos for creating some insanely detailed and atmospheric locations that reflect the affluence and the poverty of Sao Paolo. Max also sports a very different look than we’re used to, but there are some things that haven’t changed. You’ll still need painkillers to heal Max; there’s no regenerating health. And while cover is an option, this game is designed as a run-and-gun shooter, so you’re always encouraged to approach it as such. There are a few annoyances in there, but they do little to sully the overall experience.
Bullet time and the shoot-dodge (which initiates Bullet time when you lunge in either direction) are insanely fun to use and the brutal final kill cam is the icing on the cake that makes the 12-hour campaign a blast to play. Once you’re done with the story, the Arcade mode lets you approach the campaign more as a sport, scoring you for kills and a stylish approach. What really made us sit up and take notice though was online multiplayer. This isn’t the half-baked multiplayer we saw in GTAIV, but a deep and complex take on the Max Payne universe that’s just as fun (at times even more) than the single-player mode.
The two main modes of multi-player are Payne Killer and Gang Wars. In Payne Killer, one player plays as Max, while the other is his buddy Passos. Strong and better equipped, their goal is to survive, while every other player guns for them. Kill either of them, and you assume their identity. Gang Wars takes the cake though – a long-drawn battle spread out over five mini-games with shifting objectives. It’s been done before, but it will keep you coming back thanks to the way you can personalise your experience with wagersand vendettas against other players.
Max Payne 3 doesn’t change the game, but it’s just about as good as the best third-person shooters out there. Its polished and action-packed campaign, coupled with the surprisingly addictive multiplayer, makes this an instant hit for Rockstar.
What we liked: Fun gunbattles, great presentation, addictive multiplayer and one of the best looking games around.
What we didn’t: Campaign is slightly one-dimensional.
Rating: 4.5/5.
Price: Rs 2,499 (Xbox 360, PS3), Rs 999 (PC)

Set inside the heavily fortified walls of a sprawling district in the heart of Gotham City, this highly anticipated sequel introduces a brand-new story that draws together a new all-star cast of classic characters and murderous villains from the Batman universe, as well as a vast range of new and enhanced gameplay features to deliver the ultimate experience as the Dark Knight.

Dead space 2

Dead Space 2 is a third-person horror shooter video game for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. It is the sequel to Dead Space, and was released on January, 2011. The game follows Isaac Clarke, a survivor of the Aegis VII incident, who had been admitted to an asylum located aboard the Sprawl. All hell breaks loose when the Necromorph infection spread in the Sprawl. Isaac must evade the Government while fighting off the Necromorphs in his attempt to escape the Sprawl.

Dirt 3
DiRT 3 will boast more cars, more locations, more routes and more events than any other game in the series, including over 50 rally cars representing the very best from five decades of the sport. DiRT 3 delivers mud, sweat and gears world over: from the intense weather-beaten rally stages of Europe, Africa and the US, to executing performance driving showcases and career challenges where car control is pushed to spectacular limits.

Witcher 2
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is the sequel to developer CD Projekt\'s mature-themed fantasy role-playing game based on the works of author Andrzej Sapkowski. The second installment about the Witcher, Geralt of Rivia, features a mature storyline defining new standards for thought-provoking, nonlinear game narration. A new, modern game engine, responsible for beautiful visuals and sophisticated game mechanics, puts players in the liveliest and most believable world ever created in an RPG. A captivating story, dynamic combat system, beautiful graphics, and everything else that made the original Witcher such a great game are now executed in a much more advanced and sophisticated way. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings also features an original, brutal combat system that uniquely combines different tactical elements. Fight your way with swords or use magic and spells to slay your enemies as you try to solve the mystery of the assassination attempt on the king.

Fifa 12

FIFA 12 brings to the pitch the game-changing new Player Impact Engine, a physics engine built to deliver real-world physicality in every interaction on the pitch. Revolutionary gameplay innovations inspired by the real-world of Football make FIFA 12 deeper and more engaging. All-new Precision Dribbling delivers a higher fidelity of touch on the ball for attacking players, while Tactical Defending fundamentally changes the approach to defending by placing equal importance on positioning, intercepting passes and tackling. Plus, CPU players have been infused with Pro Player Intelligence, the next generation of player intelligence and performance.

Crysis 2
Crysis 2 bears the weight of heavy expectations on its shoulders. PC gamers want a new system-crushing game to show off their hardware, and console players were promised the "best-looking game ever." In the wake of Modern Warfare's ascension, Crysis fans worried that the series' expansion to consoles would lead to a narrow, dumbed-down experience.Crysis 2 sidesteps the excessive simplification of recent shooters with Nanosuited grace. It mixes destruction with beauty, and manages to deliver a more focused experience than its predecessor while retaining the building blocks of what made the original Crysis unique. Crysis 2 is the kind of game that speaks in superlatives -- and even when it stumbles, it's quick to recover, always pushing forward to another amazing moment.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations
Assassin's Creed Revelations presents the most immersive experience available in the series to date and the culmination of Ezio's adventure. In Assassin’s Creed Revelations, master assassin Ezio Auditore walks in the footsteps of his legendary mentor, Altaïr, on a journey of discovery and revelation. It is a perilous path – one that will take Ezio to Constantinople, the heart of the Ottoman Empire, where a growing army of Templars threatens to destabilize the region.

Gears of War 3
At the former, Gears 3 ultimately succeeds, especially in its rich suite of multiplayer content. Even the singleplayer campaign somehow manages to feel fresh despite rather conservative changes and a palpable sense of deja-vu coloring the majority of the campaign. As for the latter? Shakespeare this ain't, and Gears 3 struggles at times with its forced attempts at heart-string pluckery, but I can forgive it as much; gore-starved guns adorned with toothy chainsaws easily atone for any cheesiness suffered along the way.

Spider-Man: Edge of Time
Shattered Dimensions was the best Spider-Man game in years, and though Edge of Time is more of a spiritual successor than a direct sequel, all of the best elements are making a return. As with Shattered Dimensions, you'll switch between Spideys to save the world and shoot webs all over gangs of bad guys. Gameplay alternates between present day and 2099, with actions in one world affecting the other.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Modern Warfare 2 broke every record in the book when it sold 11.9 million units in 2009, and Black Ops managed to do even better, selling 13.7 million a year later. The Call of Duty franchise is huge, and offerings like Strike Packages and an all-new Survival Mode put Modern Warfare 3 in a position to be bigger than ever. Even with competition from Battlefield 3, expect Modern Warfare 3 to be one of the biggest sellers of the season.

Need For Speed: The Run

If Forza's a little too straightforward for you, look no further than Need For Speed: The Run. The game takes place in a massive race across the United States, and the environments will blow your mind. From cities to mountains, the game's tracks are some of the most unique in any racer, and they're topped off with graphics running on the same engine as Battlefield 3.

Portal 2

Portal 2 is an action shooter game from Valve Software that draws from the original formula of innovative gameplay, story, and music, which earned the original Portal more than 70 industry accolades.Portal 2 is an action shooter game from Valve Software that draws from the original formula of innovative gameplay, story, and music, which earned the original Portal more than 70 industry accolades. The single-player portion of Portal 2 introduces a cast of dynamic new characters, a host of fresh puzzle elements, and a much larger set of devious test chambers.

Battlefield 3
It delivers scorching multiplayer, fitting of its decade-long pedigree of famously expansive big-team battles, but stumbles over a generic single-player campaign that feels like a different game.
While DICE may not deliver a memorable story here, it doesn't need to when Battlefield 3's online warfare raises every bar imaginable, delivering one of the best multiplayer experiences of the year. I doubt Battlefield purists will complain much about the campaign, honestly; I know you're enlisting in this battle to bring down entire armies online.
