Latest Technologies in Green Cars

Green technology is flourishing and many auto companies are spending billions of dollars to decrease their cost of production. While their future is still at stake and many critics see them as a mere failure. Green cars are not only famous for their low mileage, but the eco-friendly nature is also appealing to many environmental experts. Hybrid and plug in hybrid are becoming common. They have shown success in the market and auto manufacturers are working to decrease their  cost price. However, hybrids are not completely environment friendly. It runs on both gasoline engine and electric battery. Some other green car technologies are in still in the phase of development. Some of the following are expected to be seen common in the near future:

Electric cars
These cars run completely on electric battery and they are not fixed with any gasoline or diesel engine. You can charge electric cars at home and they can run nearly 100-200 miles with 7 hours of charging. The few constraints of this car are
·         It is not suitable for long distance travel. You need to charge it for several hours between your journey if you are going to some far destination.
·         The cars have some speed limit and they cannot go beyond a certain speed.
·         Their price presently is very high that is the most important repelling factor for consumers.
However, in future we can expect these cars to be available in low price as many engineers are working on this technology to make it feasible.
Ethanol engine cars
Ethanol fuel can be found in alcoholic beverages. Usually car running on ethanol uses combine mixture of gasoline and gas in one tank. The main advantage of this technology is that fuel is available abundantly. Ethanol can be extracted from food items including corn and sugar cane and hence it is cheap fuel. The initial cost is zero as ethanol fuel can work in the gasoline engine.
Hydrogen cars
This car emits only water and steam as the byproducts of the combustion engine. The hydrogen engine is unique in design. However, it is still in the process of improvement. The major concern for this vehicle is the cost factor. Presently a hydrogen car nearly cost $100,000, which is extremely high. Hyundai has claimed that it will bring hydrogen car in the market by 2016 that will cost nearly 1/3 time the present hydrogen car.
